The product portfolio of the Information Technology sector is made up of six magazines which are being distributed both to newspaper kiosks and through a qualified, controlled circulation.
The circulation of PC Magazine and Computer Idea through newspaper kiosks is subject to ADS checks, whereas the quality of the mailing lists used for professional magazines such as CRN and Network News is certified by BPA, a US independent body which checks on the quality of mailing lists every six months.
The high-level editorial contents of all magazines is the result of the work carried out by editorial staffs made up of firstclass journalists who have acquired a remarkable experience in the different sectors; moreover, a significant contribution is given by the opportunity to take advantage from resources and knowledge being produced within the VNU Group.
Just to give an example, the VNU labs (which are among the largest laboratories in Europe) have been operating since 1994, thanks to an investment worth more than 1,5 million dollars: in these labs hardware and software tests are performed, and their premises are located in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan and Madrid.
All labs are web-connected and coordinated through their head office in London. Moreover, the VNU Newswire service has been operating since November 1996 it is a constant flow of everyday news generated world wide by the offices in Redwood City (California) and in London. This service is aimed at providing VNU's European newspapers and Internet electronic services with daily news.
